Anyone been to India? Any recommendations of places to stay and things to see?

    That's a very broad question.

I've been a couple of times, all depends on what type of holiday you want, it's nearly all there. You could chill on a beach in Goa/Kerala, travel into the mountains, confine yourself to the cities (Delhi, Mumbai). Have you searched on here as this question has probably been asked before and with greater detail.

It's a big country. Sleep, eat, and travel as the locals do and your money will go a long way. You'll also have a more fulfilling experience if you use trains and buses rather than fly over everything.

As said above, it has everything; cities, beaches, mountains. The Taj Mahal is a must and it takes the breath away when you see it "in the flesh". Rajasthan also has a lot to offer. The south, particularly Tamil Nadu, is less touristed but has an interesting European heritage.
