Le Vell Rape Trial: Corrie Actor Not Guilty

I have to comment on this.

This man's life has been turned upside down because of false child sex claims. And today he has been found not guilty.

Just wondering what people think of this.

Have the papers a lot to answer for? I read a headline last week "he raped me while I held my teddy bear"!! Surely this would have an impact on a person reading this about himself.

I don't think I could handle being accused of this. Would it be possible to sue the newspapers?

I hope he sues the newspapers that painted him as a monster on their front pages.

To be fair, the newspapers were only reporting what was said in court, and there was no editorialising of the facts.
However, the person who levelled the accusations should be prosecuted, as she is the one responsible for making his life hell.

I got the drift on that 'reporting'

Even though is seemed to be all one way traffic - all discussing Le Vell - the UK reporting restrictions precluded writing about the girls evidence - so it did seem slanted.

In essence the jury deliberated on facts that were never (not allowed to be) reported in the media.
