almost 13 K for a five year old car - mad methinks. When I got my avensis it was 8 years old and I gave 2900 and a dead almera for it.

Heres a similar car for four and a bit thousand less

Crazy money, another €1k and you can buy this which is bigger, better equipped, a year younger and has lower mileage:

+1 for that avensis - miles better than the corolla by my reckoning

The Avensis would be almost the same to tax as the Corolla as well, but is a much better car. That vintage of Corolla is not a good car at all - the only reason it's so popular is because of the name.

This model Corolla is a real nothing car imo.

Hard to make any sort of argument for it - looks bland, very poor legroom for what is quite a big car.

Does the car have to be a Toyota - I see a few of these Corollas around locally and Aurises too - and always assume they are bought by people who have to have a Toyota Corolla because they've always had them - rather then because they are particularly good cars.

(Ops link didn't work for me - but im assuming that with mention of the car being 5 years old - I assume its the model that was out at the same time as the Mk 1 Auris)

    More powerful
    Safer (has VSC)
    Bigger
    More modern
    Won't put your back out
Tax is only €120 more for the year, not even 2.50 a week
I've done a reg check on that avensis and its nctd till feb 2015
(Its also 3 owners to be fair)

If you're just looking for someone to tell you the corolla is great, maybe a toyota corolla owners club or a toyota dealer trying to sell you one might be a good place to ask
Personally I had 5 or 6 of them as company cars and sold them for years, and genuinely they're a lesser car than the model they replaced. They're not really designed for Europe, they're more an Asian market car adapted for Europe.
