How does one become a moderator.

Got chatting with a few of the lads & girls as we were having a few casual sociables and we came to the realisation that none of us actually knew for sure the inner depths of what it takes to become a moderator.

A few suggested things like;
a) You must be a virgin
b) Power trips are a must
c) You must have access to boards for the high % of the day/night you are awake
d) There is a private allegiance pledged
e) You must be a 'Keyboard Junkie' 'Internet Gangster' 'Mouse lieutenant'.

There the few I can remember, obsurd, I know. You can imagine the tomfoolery that lurks in my mood at this moment. So, can anyone tell me... what does it take to become a Mod?

Why do people want to become mods? It's not exactly rewarding, although it helps the site hugely. Generally, people who want to become a mod don't get to do it.

But to become a mod, all you need to know is the secret handshake.
