Never went for the Johnson's ones - much prefer the Huggies Pure. Find the Johnson's one's just slid over the sh!t whereas the Huggies gave it a good wiping... but in a gentle way;)

Nearly have our youngest out of nappies.. but will keep on buying the Huggies; they are just so handy around the house, and always have a pack in the car too for a quick freshen up.

Huggies are miles better, the only Johnson's ones worth getting are the green pack and they are not in the offer. Huggies are 3 for 2 too, think they are €3 a pack though, still good value as it works out at 3 packs for €6.

How do they all compare to water wipes? I've only ever used them.

J&j -I discovered last week the hard way that if you wipe your face with them & go to bed without rinsing, you wake up with a face that looks like an elephants ar$e & big puffy eyes you can't see out of.
    :(

Huggies are on offer in Tesco - box of 9 for €9.99. €1.11 per pack compared to boots 3 for 2 which works out at €1.33 per pack.

Never liked Huggies. Too dry to get a good clean.

In any event, we're using wipes for more than five years and I have NEVER, during that time, paid full price for a packet of wipes. Either Pampers or Johnsons (but rarely at the same time...odd that ;)) are always on a half price offer.

    3 for 2 = 3 packs for 2 euro = 67 cent each (approx).

No! 3 packs for the price of 2 packs. Not 3 packs for the price of 2 euro! ;)

Johnsons baby wipes down from €2.?? to €1

As in the quote above ? Down from €2 to €1 per pack, and part of the 3 for 2 offer = 3 packs for the price of 2 packs ( 2 euro ) = 3 packs for 2 euro = 67c per pack ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,813 ✭✭✭peteb2

But what you originally quoted refers to Huggies in Boots!

That's cos of the alcohol in them
You should keep them away from your naked eyes if at all possible

Ah see what you mean, I was not concerned about the brands/sellers, all the one IMO ! Wipes!!

Rookie error dude! Wipes are a personal choice - a lot are crap!

The Aldi and Lidl ones get quite a lot of good reviews also, and around €1.20 per 80 pack on a normal day.

I find the johnsons very greasey, the huggies are far nicer.

Hmm boots is a chain store so they should be reduced from €2.79 to €1 each plus in the 3 for 2 baby offer. I also found the Aldi ones to be quite good. If I hadn't seen this offer I'd still be buying them.

Now nappies. Which ones do you like and which would you avoid. Again the Aldi ones aren't bad and are good value for money. Though I like the wetness indicator on Pampers. However not really needed as all her nappies are usually wet. Even if only put on 10 mins ago

Not a user of nappies myself, but my friend is expecting so I have become rather familiar with the pros and cons of most brands! And the thing is, as with the wipes it seems to be a very personal choice! some say pampers, others hate them and say huggies, others say the Aldi ones are great.

Might be of interest, or not, but the Tesco 'Cheeky Bots' brand is currently on offer. Normally €28 per box of between 150 - 196 (depending on nappy size) currently selling for €10 per box. Just over €0.05c per nappy. Not sure if they are good or bad, but my friend has bought up a couple of boxes of the smallest sizes to get her through the first few weeks after they arrive.

I've tried the cheeky bots also and didn't have any problems with them. Maybe though that's cos I do change them quite often, not really allowing them to get a proper saturation. This prevents her from getting rashes but also means value for money is even more important!

That's great. Though they should be displaying the offer.

Unfortunately they never do. Funny when they would have lost out on a sale!
