    What rate would you spread it at? I was going to go at 10 ton/acre

    On the subject of dung spreading, would there be any market for the old Krone dung spreader. The trailer type. One owner since New and in immaculate condition. I'd be amazed if there's a better example in the country.

    A 10ton spreader full,to the acre i would imagine.?
    Sounds ok.but depends on what your putting it on also.?

    10t spreader load so may not be 10t - sounds okay but would depend on the indices in the field in question.

    Sometimes the vintage lads can amaze and shock you on things like this so you never know.

    Most are now normal trailers or IBC stands so the condition of the tyres and axles are most important. Worth a few 100 at most IMV.

    Putting it on a burned off field for reseeding and incorperating it with a disc harrow

    The usual instruction to the contractor here is "See that pile of sh**e there? put it out on those fields/paddocks there. We don't spread much dung though.

    15th October for Slurry

    Lads do any of ye know is it possible to hire out a dung spreader to spread it your self? I have a heap of stuff to go out this year and @€;90/hr I am looking at alternatives! I have a decent tractor and a digger so I think it is a no brainer... what ye think? (Hate slow side slingers)

    try chatting to your local contractor and see if he will hire it out on its own thats what we do sometimes

    You can't field store in the closed period - something to bear in mind.

    thanks, but its been there now 2 years and topped up this year, good nettle camouflage on it
