Hello everybody! Sorry in advance if this has been asked a million times before!

So basically - I have been out of the country for a long period of time (over 10 years). Now I am working a minimum wage job which is fine for the time-being and just received my first pay.

I have the forms to send to revenue but I'm struggling to make sense of what my earnings will be once I have my tax certificate.

I believe you may get temporary tax credits in the first month.

So on this wage slip for week 1 I:

    Hours worked: 46
    Total Pay Gross: E346.00

    Taxable pay: E346.00
    Standard Tax: E69.20
    Tax Credit: E32.00
    Tax Due: E37.20
    Deducations: USC: E24.22A
    and: E PRSI EERE14.71A

    Total pay received: E284.58

Can anybody please tell me what I can expect to receive after deductions once I have my tax certificate in place?

    I am 24 and single.

    Thanks you :)

As you are single, you will have an annual tax credit of €3,300 & SRCOP of €32,800. Based on a gross wage of €346 per week you'll pay the following taxes:

    PAYE €69.20
    Tax Credit €63.46
    Tax Due €5.74

    USC €11.12

    Ee PRSI €Nil

    Net Pay €329.14

Prob should have mentioned, as soon as your gross wage goes over €352 you'll have to pay employee's PRSI of 4% on the total so if you worked an extra hour or 2 over the 46 your net pay would prob be less than if you just worked 46 hours.

There's a free to download spreadsheet tax calculator available from the 'About me' section of my profile (also linked in my signature which is visible when you're logged in to Boards)
