I need 4 new tyres (195/60R15). I have always gotten "budget" tyres, usually what ever was cheapest in the shop without even asking what brand they were. I think my local shop deals in BCT tyres. I think given that I am changing all 4 tyres I might aswell put the extra few bob in and get a decent set. They have goodyear and continental in stock? which would be better (or are there better alternatives else where?)? I mostly do city driving and and country roads with very little motorway miles if that makes a difference.

It depends on what Goodyear or Continental tyres they are. Both brands will have their own budget and premium tyres with prices to reflect that.

Any tyre from either brand will be far superior to some unknown budget tyre you've been using in the past. You'll instantly notice the difference in grip and handling and will probably (hopefully) never buy a cheap budget tyre again.

75 euro a tyre was what they were quoting for the good year/continentals.

Or Dunlop fast response tyres for 80.

I take it these are at the budget end of their spectum.

Have done alot of ringing around and have settled (almost) on Vredestein Sportrac 5 tyres unless someone has something drastically lad to say about them?
