Whats wrong with me?

    I can't handle alcohol at all! I'm a super light-weight.
Last night, I had two 500ml bottles of beer, feel asleep fully clothed at midnight. Woke up at 2pm today feeling absolutely terrible. Infact, I still feel terrible right now.
Stomach ache, and pain in my legs. Not the worst I've felt after beer but why does it hate me so much. I drank 2 mere bottles over the space of 2 hours for god sake!

A few weeks back, I had 4 cans. Woke up the next day with a horrible stomach, near full blown hangover. I only drink 1-2 times a month, but I'm genuinely thinking of just giving it up at this stage. It makes me feel so crappy no matter how much I have.

If I had more than 3-4 pints I'd be out of it! I'm only 21!

What/how much do you eat beforehand? Maybe you're allergic to beer? What happens if you drink wine, spirits, etc?

Maybe try something other than beer..?

Hahahahahaha. I can drink a bottle of spirits and still feel okay.

Seriously though who cares? Cheaper nights for you! If people slag you over how much you can drink they're not worth knowing.

I'd say you're allergic to alcohol. The same thing used to happen to a friend of mine.

I had take away, bag of chips and a kebab. I also ate a bit of chocolate with the beer.

Spirits make me feel the same, without the ****ty beer smell/runs. But I dont really like anything other than beer.

Wouldnt an allergy have different symptoms other than just, easily prone to a hangover?

Slow metaboliser or low levels of alcohol dehydrogenases.

Sex occurs more often when you're drunk.

Some sort of wheat or gluten allergy\intolerance maybe. Try vodka if you want to continue drinking. Or maybe cider.

    Alcohol allergy I would say

I would be checked for coeliac disease if I were you my friend used to be very sick after 2 drinks of beer and it worked out she was a coeliac so worth checking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 490 ✭✭Munstermad

Friend had same symptoms, turned out he was coeliac.

More than likely a yeast intolerance.
    You might also have Candida.
A strict diet and you'll be right as rain.
Stick to vodka in the meantime.

Do you remember the night before?

I do. I was overly excited like any typical drunk yet very tired.

OP do you have a BF/GF or go dating? What do you do then if you go the pub?

Sorry don't want to put things in your head I'm just wondering.

I get that too sometimes. I've always put it down to the standing around in bars for hours.

I dont, and I dont really go to pubs/bars. Its probably a year or more since I've been in one.

I get the same way after a couple of beers to, I've always been too embarrassed to admit it to anyone. After looking up the coeliac website I reckon I could have that, gonna get myself checked out. The test to diagnose it sounds horrific though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 175 ✭✭tosspot15

I'm pretty certain its not an allergy or coeliac disease. Jesus, I think if I had coeliac disease I'd know about it. Its a lot more serious than just a bit of an upset stomach after a beer.

    Might be Coeliac?

Have you tried alcohol other than beer?

Edit: sorry just saw your post.

Does sound like a mate or mine used to get though.
