    Hi ,
In the last year I have gone from 20/20 vision to requiring reading glasses ,I cannot even see a text without putting on glasses and I cant leave the glasses on all the time as everything else goes blurry.
Recently I saw an ad regarding a new laser option to correct for age related short sightedness and was wondering if anyone has had this procedure and how effective it is ,the ad says its painless and only takes 10 minutes .
    many thanks

    Presbyopia.
You still have 20/20 distance vision but struggle to read.
There are several treatments available. The laser option is less tested and less proven for presbyopia than it is for myopia but it's there. I got laser surgery for myopia this year and while in the clinic I read about a number of new treatments for presbyopia.

    Among the treatments are
Kamra Inlay (small disc inserted in the surface of the eye to help you focus on small print)
Refocus (not sure what this is tbh but it's new and fancy apparently)
Monovision (you correct one eye to read up close but will struggle to see in the distance and the other eye is left as it is seeing well in the distance but struggling up close - together they balance)

Obviously there's bifocal reading glasses as well.

If you google these terms I'm sure you'll come across more info on them and on other treatments as well. I have monovision myself and although it works for me fine, I think others may find it too much of an adjustment.
