    Folks,

    Please see attached?

Do I need you two front shocks? If yes, are these a good brand and price?

    thanks

Yes. It looks like you need two new front shock.

Also you probably need some photo editing software, which would at least have rotating feature :D

You should price them at a local motor factors as they might do a lot better than micksgarage

Shocks should be replaced in pairs but you'd get away with one.

As mentioned before - shock absorbers should be replaced in pairs, but I had similar failures couple of times but got away with replacing only one. They were second hand too.

Think I mentioned this before, but when you're talking about measurement, a capital M means Mega, while small m means mili. So the front nearside moves by 119,000 kilometers according to the NCT report.

I know I'm just being pedantic, but it annoys me when it's not just a mistake, it actually means something else entirely.

You're being pedantic about something you're wrong about. Mm stands for MAHA Meter not Mega meter. Also some posters assume it's a typo for Nm or mm - it's not. It's not a unit of SI but a proprietary unit for testing shocks.

And here is the test unit itself that returns the Mm result:

Replace them in pairs. 2 crap shocks can still pass NCT because there's no imbalance.
If you replace just one you might create a new imbalance and fail, and have to get a second one anyway. Worth the risk? Up to you.

Thanks for that, I've asked a couple of people who I thought would know about it, but never heard that.

Using another symbol, such as sigma, might avoid some confusion from people who though like myself, or think it's supposed to be Nm. Using proprietary units doesn't help when trying to help the public understand technical info.
