Hi, I'm just wondering does a dublin bus (the yellow & blue one) go from Heuston station to bray? I always see them in bray but I've never got one from either way. Also what number (or w/e) bus would it be?

Obviously I haven't a clue what I'm talking about lol so apologies for my bad phrasing of things!

145 goes from Heuston Station through Bray and out to Kilmacanogue. It should be fine no matter what part of Bray you want to get to.

get luas to wynds hotell stop. Or get 90 from outside heuston to city centre. Then get 145 dublin bus from oconnel street to bray

No need for all that. The 145 leaves from the front door of Heuston Station.

Presumably the OP is not in a hurry to get to Bray?

They need to create a 145X asap.

I suppose if I really, really wanted to lose the will to live I would take the bus all the way to Bray from Heuston. Add the inevitable wet day and the misery would be complete.

OP, my main tip to you, apart from Sunscreen :) would be to look for a through ticket from where you are coming from to Bray that includes the Luas as an add on. Life is really too short for double decker bussing all that distance no matter what the cost.

Irish Rail (phone number on their website) will advise.

By the time you get from Heuston to Connolly and then DART to Bray station you are looking at an hour and a half journey time. And that's before you get to whatever part of Bray you are going.

The bus is roughly the same but will probably bring you closer to your destination.

I'd echo the above, no method(s) of transport involving a changover will b any quicker than the 145.

    145 doesn't use O'Connel St.
It goes down the Quays and turns onto Dolier St.

    Where in Bray?

It will somewhat depend on circumstances.

If heading to Bray station, DART will be slightly quicker, especially in the evening peak. If heading to the southwest of Bray, the 145 is likely to be quicker, especially on a Sunday morning. Bus is liekly to be better if carrying luggage.

Note that there are Bus Éireann stops in parts of Bray, but service from Dublin may be quite limited.

Give the fare calculator on the Dublin Bus website a go, it's really very easy :)

The National Transport Authority website also has detailed timetables that show expected times to every stop on every route. Brilliant resource.

€2.80 each way and maybe 1hr15? it's all traffic depending of course but I can usually get into town (Dawson St.) in about 55 mins - 1hr

€2.80 cash or €2.45 using a Leap Card.

Considering buying a Travel90 ticket, you get 10 journeys for €25 but each journey can involve multiple stages (buses), the only requirement is that you validate the ticket on the last leg within 90 minutes of the start of your journey.

This would allow you to start your journey from anywhere in the city to link up with the 145 so for example if you were up in Phibsboro you could get the 46A as far as Nassau St or Kildare St., then switch to the 145 for the trip to Bray and it will cost you €2.50 using a Travel90 ticket.

Otherwise in your case the Leap Card for single legs is the cheapest.
