Tuition Fee Error?

    Hey,

Today I received a bank gyro from UCC for payment for my fees. However, as this is my first time doing third level education and I'm a citizen of Ireland, I should be exempt from tuition fees under the free fees scheme. Regardless they seem to be charging me for them anyway. What gives? Did I miss something?

The deadline is September 9th so any information would be greatly appreciated.

Everybody has to pay Registration fees which are around €2500.*

Technically the 'fees' are free what your paying for is registration

*Unless you qualify for a grant whose deadline has passed.

I think technically these are now referred to as the "Student Contribution".

I know about the registration fees. But it's tuition fees I'm being charged for as well. My total charge for the year is coming to over €5000. Surely that can't be right?

If its your first time in College then your right, you shouldn't be paying the fees on top of your 'Student contribution', give em a call.

Sometimes they make mistakes, just get in touch with UCC & they should sort it out for you.
