Found some bog oak a few days ago,one big piece about 10 foot long and a foot round and many other smaller pieces.
They are all fairly straight pieces rather than roots, what would they be worth and do they need to be dried out first?

Depending on the condition of the timber, its very hard to place a value on it. Its extremely hard to get good solid bog oak, so if its solid, it may be worth 100-150 for the length.
Drying it out is a tricky process too, as you could degrade it very quickly if you are not careful. Of course then it could still be useable in smaller sizes, but that again affects the worth.
A few close pics might explain a lot.
