Can of Lynx and a lighter will fix that.

Better dial 99 and be ready to dial 9 again.

Awful lot of wasps more than anything out my way. Living in apartment and it's fierce warm during the day so have to open windows and balcony doors. Only when the sun flowers started to bloom did they ****ing not come indoors for the most part. Thank **** for small mercys.

Make a wasp/fly trap, cut the bottles top off and reverse it, tape it on, fill the bottle half way with a mix of vinegar, sugar and water.

    http://i-cdn.apartmenttherapy.com/uimages/re-nest/bee_trap.jpg

like that, they'll all go into it and get stuck, works very well

It's Crane flies for me. I've killed at least twenty of the bastards over the last week. Every time I leave a window open, they invade the house.

Worst is when you're tucked up in bed, light off and you hear them bouncing off the wall, so you turn on the light to kill it, but it's disappeared. So you wait...and wait..because sleeping isn't an option while they're there.

    Sorry. I hate Crane flies.

Yeah the wasps have gone mad this year in particular, my eldest got stung last week. She's not even three yet, so it was kinda heart breaking watching her in pain.

Even worse was watching her try to make sense of it.

"but why did he sting me dad? I didn't do anything to him, that wasp was so bold! "

She has been on a kill all wasp mission ever since.

Not a bad life lesson though, learning that sometimes, people/wasps are just assholes for the hell of it.

"but why did he sting me dad?"

You see, it got drunk and wanted to fight, just like your dad on a night out, sweetie :D

Jokes aside, they've been very aggressive this year as well, probably getting drunk off fermenting fruit. They're usually fine until you attack their nest. I was "stung" by a wasp just this week, however, the stupid cnut stung my wallet and I was successful at killing it with my Galaxy S4. What a great phone!

And when you've got 10 or 15 in it, pour in an eggcup of petrol. Don't know what it does to them but they wriggle for a bit and die. Fun to watch. More fun still if you light it, and watch 'em explode. ;-)

You need a glass, put some vinegar into it, put clingfilm over it and spike it a few times, flies attracted to smell, head in to see what's up and them can't get back out, death by vinegar intoxication, and it all happens while you're in bed - brilliant !!

they're really not, you don't have to destory it with vinegar, 10 or 15 drops will do it if it's that kind of dispenser or say about 20mls.

My trap has about 200 wasps and flies in it at the moment

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,354 ✭✭✭Sobanek

My trap has attracted around 15 flies, but no wasps! Looks like my torch is still the most effective tool in fighting the bastards :D

Wasps are pissed off because Queen is done with them, they are getting old and tired and the fermented fruit has them drunk. Basically there not getting their hole, plus tired and drunk = Agro Wasps
