Looks good but you have no graphics card. There is no integrated graphics on FX processors.

You could change to an FM2 board and an A8 5600k or A10 5800k. The A8 is better value and offer's only a tiny bit less performance.

Both have 2 less cpu cores but it has good integrated graphics and would still have more than enough power for college/office work.

I'd go for the A8 with one of these coolers. You can always overclock it to get more performance.

Knew I would leave something out.Cheers for the advice , back to the drawing board in the morning.
Would there be a cheap graphics card to use with the FX or is it better to buy an integrated one when my build wont be used for gaming.

For my needs would it be better to go for AMD or Intel ?

Also is there many components that are more energy efficient than others or are they all fairly similar?

It all depends what kind of software your using for college? If its only office etc and not using any autodesk/cad or adobe(photoshop etc.) you would get away with a 5450 for about 20-25 quid. The fx is the better processor and the a8-a10 would have better integrated graphics

Budget is €450 max and want to get the best build I can for that.I know I could build for less but I'm hoping to have a set up that won't need upgrading for a good few years. It wont be used for games or auto cad etc. Would like a system that is won't be outdated within a few months , am I right in doing this or is it overkill for my needs and whatever I build will be outdated anyways fairly quickly.
As I said I have never picked out the components for a build before so I do appreciate any advice I get.

You have picked good parts and it's going to be a better pc than anything you order pre built. I'd just go with the A8 5600k then and an FM2 mainboard. You will still have the option of adding a graphics card later if you want to do any serious gaming on it.

The integrated graphics will allow some casual gaming especially with an overclock on the ram, igp and processor. It's very capable for it's price.
