Hi I applied for FIS for the first time 7 weeks ago, still no letter today so I rang the office and the lady told me that its disallowed because im not working the hours, I have been working 19 hours every week except one week where i was sick for one day but i made up the hours the next week. When i filled out the application form they asked for details of the last 4 weeks worked, 2 of the weeks were under 19 hours because i had just gone up to 19 hours and they state to apply right away as you may lose payment if you dont.

Im wondering is it this that they got this conclusion from or what because im seriously confused, I sent off an email after i got the phone to them with all payslips attached dated back to july, Can anyone shed some light on how long you think ill be waiting for a reply if any, The lady said my claim was closed and i should have got a letter which i didnt receive.

Any advice on what to do next or anything similar would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post

When you applied they should have called you when they received your application and told you to forward the 4 weeks payslips that you now have.

Really it looks like you are going to have to re apply meaning you will lose the payments for the last 7 weeks.

You could try complain and get them to re open your claim as they didnt wait for your payslips but really they could argue that you should have given them the right information.

OP I would ignore the previous post(No. 2 ),the info/suggestions are total garbage.

What you did was correct ,sending on your payslips as extra proof.I would leave it to next week and ring them .
Ask has your email been received and has it been passed on to the Deciding Officer who originally closed your claim.

There wont be any need to reapply as you have now provided more information and if you have worked 38 hours every fortnight since you applied there wont be a problem .

FIS would have used the info you supplied to them and were correct to refuse you ,its unfortunate that you didn't receive the dis-allowance letter and you could have this sorted out quicker but I would be very surprised if it isn't sorted with a few days.

Thanks I actually took the chance and rang them again this evening and told her that i had sent the email and she said she would pass it along to the deciding officer. I was freaking out for a minute there, thanks for the replies, really appreciate them

Thats brilliant, I'm sure the deciding officer will do the right thing.

My claim was closed and I went through hell to get it re opened, but it was for a different reason.

    Best of luck.
