Forgot sign on date... do I have to go in?

I mislaid the piece of paper I had noted my next sign date on, if I phone them will they tell my date?

Surely I do not have to go in, wait the usual ~2hours just to sit down for 10 seconds while they tell me the date I have to come in (to queue up again...).

It's fairly ridiculous there is no system online where I can check this. It would be very easy to implement.

I'd head in, if I were you. Tell Welfare you forgot the signing date. Otherwise, when you next go for your money, none will be there for you!

And next time, put a reminder on your phone!

    Ask at the reception desk

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Spent over an hour on hold over the past two days, ran out of phone credit now. I find it hard to believe that not a single one of them was able to pick up a ringing phone, considering how long they spend away from the windows when you're actually in there.

I think there is a separate 'reception' desk in there, I guess I'll go in tomorrow and find out.

I suppose it's a good way of motivating people to find work: make sure the support for unemployed people is as bad as possible.

Social welfare rarely answer the phone - call in

I know, but you can see why calling in is my last resort. Having to sit there for 2 hours while loads of people who came in after you get seen first because people gave them their 'spare' tickets, all for an inquiry that won't take more than 20 seconds.

I would literally be able to set them up a system where people can check their times online. Maybe I'll suggest it as part of one of those slave-labour JobBridge schemes :D
