I was hoping somebody may know if its worth giving the river Inny a go with the fly rod for trout around the Ballymahon area and if so is there an angling club that has rights on the river?

    Any advice welcome

    Cheers

I fished the inny a few years ago in the areas you mention and had a few trout although small. From what I hear there are some decent trout in it. Im not aware of any club permits but do know that you would need an IFI midlands permit to fish the Inny. Its the same one you need for Loughs Sheelin, Ennel Owel and Derrevaragh etc. You can purchase one here

Is that a real site ??? it's a different layout to the IFI main web page and it's not a .ie address either. I maybe wrong but it just looks dodgy.....

Its ok. This is the IFI site and if you click on Midland permit towards the top right you get that page
