    Me I'm 15st 11lbs, I'm 28 and 6'1''. I know I'm over weight but I'm doing better than I was a few years ago, I was tipping the scales at 23st 7lbs.

    What about yourself?

Nope. Don't require BMI or any of that stuff to tell me either. Look in a mirror, that works. Though having seen women who were actually thin look in a mirror and see "fat" and blokes who were well porky look in a mirror and see "well built", maybe not and YMMV.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I've a wee bit of a belly and could definitely stand to lose a bit.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Eeyup - had high blood pressure, weighing in over 100.6kg - been ordered by the doc. to lose it, was last month. I'm currently at 93.4kg.

Progress! Goal's to hit 82kg before Xmas. Then to pile it back on come Xmas dinner.

6'2", ~14 stone. Yeah a little bit. But then I was 12 stone 6 months ago, and 14 stone 8 months before that. I'm a weirdo.

I'm not sure how seriously to take BMI, it doesn't take build into account

Yeah BMI is useless really, it's over 150 years old now and is far too vague in only taking Weight and Height into consideration.

I'm 6'1" and 90Kg and I could do with losing a few kilos alright...

    nope.
Must have high metobolathingie as I can't seem to put on weight even if my diet goes bad at times, but I do play sports 4 times a week which must help.
The older I've gotten, the more I'm trying to look after my body more.

probably a stone and a bit overweight, not all that bothered. already lost a few stone in the last year so I'm in no major rush to lose the rest. slow and steady wins the...ooh, jellies

Am 5' 8" tall and weight 146lbs at the moment. Am size 10-12
Not overweight but as have gained a few lbs in the last little while am exercising my ass off and have pulled the reins in on what I'm eating until I return to 137-140lbs.

Generally happy with my body. Its healthy and strong and looks good in a pair of jeans!

Well, now, I'd be over some weights alright but I'd be under some aswell. Like I'd be over 7 stone anyway, but definitely under 30 stone.

There's too much conflicting advice out there, I feel. First they say bacon is bad for us, next they're saying we're to have eight glasses of it a day. One day chocolate causes the flu, another day it cures it. And now this new rule where you should eat seven purple foods every day. Who's to know what to believe?

Loving this whole exercise business and not eating too much junk :)

That can't be overweight unless you don't exercise?

I am 5'8 and weighed 13 stone 3 pounds 2 months and was not overweight. I have a broad frame and rugby background but didn't have a belly(barely) by any means at that weight.

Changed to boxing now and down to 12 stone now. And not a massive amount of difference, just a smaller waist

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,692 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

I thought I was physically fit currently until I found myself sweating whilst doing the hoovering a couple of days ago!

But I attribute that to not being able to maintain my fitness due to a chipping bone in my ankle two weeks ago

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,094 ✭✭✭The Cool

Yep definitely. Care enough about it not to like photos of myself, but not enough to switch to eating salad all the time. I do keep an eye on what I eat, but honestly when I pick fruit and veggies instead of chocolate or chips it's more my hair, skin etc that I'm thinking about rather than how many calories I'm consuming. Have taken up swimming a few times a week to try and lose a bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,928 ✭✭✭✭rainbow kirby

Marginally by BMI (25.5-ish). Could do with losing about a stone tbh.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,676 ✭✭✭✭herisson

Yep I am, down 7 stone so far so I'd like to loose a bit more in the next year.

I tend to avoid weighing scales and mirrors.
