Heading to Alicante next Friday for 5 nights with the girlfriend. Not sure where is the best place to stay? Would Alicante town be better this time of the year or somewhere closer to the coast like Santa Pola or Benidorm?

Alicante is actually on the coast and has its own beach. As regards other resorts on the Costa Blanca, Santa Pola is a nice quiet resort with a fine beach, but stay away from Benidorm!

Thanks! Ya I've heard some negative feedback about Benidorm.
Would you recommend anywhere in particular to stay?

When we visit the Costa Blanca, we stay in Almoradi, but I would not recommend staying there. Torrevieja is also a very nice resort with fine beaches and a magnificent seafront area and boardwalk. Sorry, but I could not help you as regards places to stay.
