    Hi guys,
Don't really know if this kind of thing is allowed, so mods, feel to delete.

We currently have two cars that are just too small for our needs. We have a 2003 micra and 2003 1.4 fiesta.
We also now have a one year old so we are getting rid of the fiesta as it is too expensive on tax and petrol for such a small car.

We want something big enough for buggy and shopping and enough room to add a second car seat in the next two years without the seats being cramped.
I will be doing about 20k this year while finishing college but after that it will only be a general family car.
we thought a mondeo might suit us but open to suggestions. About 7k,might push to 8.
    thanks

It shouldn't be too difficult to get a new shape mondeo at 7-8k. http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ford-mondeo-2008/5611964

20k miles would justify a diesel anyway, bear in mind the cheaper tax on post 08 mondeo diesels. There's always petrol ones, which are considerably cheaper.
Great powerful car imo and can fit 3 baby seats in the back.Hatchback has larger boot space and is easier to fire the buggy into.

We have one child and we sold my wife's golf and bought a 2010 1.6TDI Passat.
Best move I've ever made I think. The boot is very big and easily accomadates a buggy, baby stuff and a weeks shopping.
We've also been on holiday twice in Ireland this year and we brought a LOAD of stuff with us, even the little fella's travel cot with the large matress from his bedroom cot. The idea of fitting everything in comfortable made holidaying a more pleasant experience.
Looked at a mondeo too and I went for the passat in the end as I liked the inside more and I'm a VW head too. The passat was better specced too which surprised me. 2010 passat is a runout model so it's got a fair few extra's.

edit: our little fella was 1 when we got the passat. Weeks shopping and baby stuff filled the boot and back seat!

    Thanks for the reply.
a lot of the ones I have seen have higher mileage. Does it really matter?
I know that sounds silly but I know nothing of cars

Personally I wouldn't mind a highish mileage car that has done mostly motorway miles and is excellent condition with a full service hostory.

Lower miles would always be the preference however.
