It's a shame, it was funny for all the wrong reasons. Listening to it last week in bed and there was a girl boasting to the world about leaving her cat in her apartment in Dublin for two weeks while she went to Lanzarote. She left out two weeks worth of open tins of cat food and some newspaper on the floor for it to shít on. You just don't get that kind of honesty on Joe Duffy.

Aw man I don't believe this! I just don't think it'll be half as entertaining, they're not going to be able to talk about whatever they like during the daytime which was the appeal of the night time show for me anyway.

I don't think I'd be bothered listening to them during the day.

There's far too many plant callers, wind-up merchants, acting and obvious goading from Dixon.
The Halloween night specials were OK til everyone realised it was all a big joke.

The blatant guise of acting stupid just to get people to call in with answers to questions instead of Googling them..it's all just a farce now.

Good riddance.

In truth I obviously didn't read it as I could count the number of times I've listened to it with my non-mutant number of fingers, ever since d'tinternet came along. Not a bad shoe as a background filler on the way to sleep, but the general format's become quite dated.

Now what I really miss is the general lunacy they had on afterwards with Greg Merriman (and I think originally Rick O'Shea?) way back, I think in the mid/late 90s. Anyone else remember Mary Shocolates, Tony the Monkey Child, etc?

Yeah, afterwards was the main event. Going to school with my eyes hanging out of my head from tiredness. I even had the songs taped on a blank cassette!

That's absolutely appalling. At least we left our cats outside for the two weeks.
