Seriously bizarre move and I feel for Casey, my take was owner wanted a 3 miler, Casey knew he wasnt one but was made run him none the less.

Henry would have been the smart move imo

Feel for Casey? Why? Do you think de bromhead would let an owner dictate the best route for the horse? Potts knows his stuff obviously & has his own ideas but he has always said de bromhead has the final say. Casey obviously hadn't the balls to stand up to the owner. No sympathy for that clown whatsoever. The horse is the only loser in all this.

De Bromhead has the final say? Like all the other trainers who trained for him in England?? Potts took his ball and ran off because he didn't like being told what to do by high profile trainers like Henderson & Hobbs.

Henry does what he's told because he would be minus a dozen horses if he didn't play appease the bully.

Ya this is right, anyone thinking De Bromhead calls the shots to Alan Potts isn't very smart

Because he did nothing wrong, is that hard to understand?

Where did I say Henry would?

If you think you have a top class animal why not send him to a trainer who always has them spot on for the big day and has a serious nack of getting horses to jump well and Flemenstar would probably be his best horse as Sizing rising 12.

I just can't figure out this move at all at all.

This is on a whole new level of stupid.

    What makes Casey a clown:

    1) The fact Flemenstar blew people away with two performances last season over his trip
    2) The fact that when forced to send the horse over 3 miles twice he was beaten a total of 2 1/2 by 3 horses, Tidal Bay and Sir Des Champs who only had the best 3 miler around in front of them in their biggest races of the season and First Lieutenant who was beaten by the second best chaser around in the Ryanair.
    3) The fact he won over €250,000 with the horse

He is a character which is something the game needs more of and is honest to boot and quite frankly anyone calling him a clown is a moron.

Horse cursed by moving it away.

Would be surprised if we see him win a race again

maybe not but he brought the horse as far as he could. flemenstars form was on the slide since last year and caseys constant seeking media attention can't have helped

The biggest deterioration in Flemenstar's form came with his jumping performance the last day.

Do you mean the two 3 mile runs Casey was forced to run him in or where he was beaten by the the 4th best (IIRC) chaser of all time and the second best chaser in training at the moment?

Casey wanted to run him over 3m and 3.2m against the wishes of his jockey.Dont know where you got "Casey was forced"from as that is total rubbish.

Casey said numerous times he didnt think he would get 3 miles and he also said Andy thinks he will get 3 miles. Of course it was the owner forcing it.

His form at 3 miles is far better than at 2 miles. Beaten less than a length in the Lexus and 2 in the henessey by sdc is far better form than the 20 plus he was beaten by sprinter and cue card in aintree.

No way was he right at Aintree. Whether that was because of traveling, ground or sickness it doesn't really matter. He wasn't right .

Maybe he was not right in aintree and we may never get too know how good he was but would have loved too have seen him bowling along in front over 3 miles.

Casey said to me "he will win a Gold Cup"ten minutes later Andy Lynch said to me "he is been messed around he is a 2 1/2 m horse who needs to be up with pace".I have seen myself what a circus it had become and the owner was nowhere to be seen. The owner wanted to keep the horse in the area so he was advised Tony Martin who is only 10 m from Casey approx.Lynch is a local lad here in North Dublin[very nice down to earth lad] and the only other trainer mentioned in connection with the horse was Jim Draper, that was quickly knocked in the head for obvious reasons.Imo the owner/jockey were in no way to blame for the horse to be taken from Casey.

My word, a horse being sick enough that the vet spent a week with him after the race is not an excuse? SS is also rated 188 btw
