Sun cream stains on car bodywork

I have a new car only purchased in Jan which is non metallic black in colour. I have noted some whitish marks on the body work on one side of the car. There are two large marks and a few little finger prints. My other half reckons its sun cream from the last spell of good weather we had. I'm not a great fan of washing the car but did take it to a car wash this evening and the marks seem to still be there if anything they look worse now the rest of the car is clean.

Just wondering can this be fixed and is it easy to do with maybe a Halfords product. I'm a little reluctant to tackle it myself for fear of making it worse and with it being a new motor. I hope to God it's not a re spray job which I can only imagine will cost a packet. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hi Jiggers77, we have a Car Detailing forum here for exactly this sort of query.

Maybe a Mod could move this please?
