Hi quick question if my partner earns to much can that affect my susi application.

We decided to move in together over the summer and i told susi that we where living together so they asked for documentation regarding her earnings.

I will be getting the btea so wont be getting the grant but can her earnings affect me getting the student contribution fee?

    Yes

    It's means assessed

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

So if it turns out she earns to much I might have to pay for the course myself?

    Yes possibly

If your joint income is more than €49,840 then you probably won't get a fee grant

And the income is based on gross income I think? Not net income.

ok thanks guys. Prob looks like i will have to pay for the course.

As far as i know w colleges dont help whatsoever with Payment of fees, though you can pay in stages, also, btea is also assessed by means and it is very unusual for you to be eligible for that and not fees.. Perhaps you might be better off moving out for a while? Hths

No colleges generally won't help pay fees
