I see a lot of strange things on our motorways. Maybe a dedicated thread might be good way to report what people have seen. I'll start.
One day it was a Pajero jeep driving the wrong way on the M9 around killkenny, reckon he missed his exit and didn't fancy the 20km to the next exit. In fairness he had the hazards on. Only in Ireland would someone attempt that.

On the way to Galway last year a Saxo came at me and my girlfriend head on in the fast lane. She was driving, I was on my phone, looked up to see this thing coming at us. She screamed and I took the wheel and pulled us into the inside lane. It was REALLY close.

A few weeks ago I passed a transit van on the M3 with a hi-vis vest covering the whole drivers door window obviously shielding the poor driver from the strong sun. Bless

tbh you're better off asking mod to move this thread to Motors forum, Learning to Drive is mostly forums for learners who should not even be on motorway, pretty sure you will hear more interesting stories if this gets moved to Motors.

Good idea, I only saw 2 options in motoring they were modified cars or car detailing. There doesn't seem to be a driving fourm.
Thats why I went with learning to drive, so many people out there think they can.
If the mod wishes to move it and create another catagory by all means move it.

I suggest that you didn't look very hard, there are multiple threads in Motors on such issues.

Or you could post it here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056009358

Was on a driving lesson one night, heading down the Belgard towards Newlands X, German camper van heading towards me on same side of the road I was on.

Sorry for digging up an old thread but this weekend I saw two doozies.

On Friday, coming out of the Birdhill Applegreen services I met a car coming up the off ramp!

And today in very heavy bank holiday traffic 3 loons decided it was a good idea to go for a walk on the hard shoulder of the N7 between Portlaoise and J14.

    I thought learners weren't allowed on motorways?

Tonight, just past the Dundrum off-ramp (southbound) on the M50, a black Maserati saloon doing c.200mph in the outside lane then shooting left (between cars) across three lanes to the next off ramp. Idiot of the highest order.

Since this is an old thread, perhaps it would be best to start fresh in the motors forum:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=47

This is definitely more suited to the main motors forum.
