Due to recently been made unemployed I need to get to get a full licence in order to start a new job ASAP,but I haven't had a licence in 14 years,do I need to start from scratch all over again.
I had two provisional licences and done a test in 1999 which I failed( was told I had exceptional driving skills but too many bad habits !)

Ya you have to start again! Provisional licences and test failure cert valid for so long. Licence need to be no older than 5 years old until you sit test. Cert of failure think its 1 year or 2 years its valid for until you sit test again.

Best of luck with the driving! If you good driving skills but bad habits they can be rectified by professional driving lessons. All the new laws probably apply since you will get a new 1st learner permit/provisional. Rules apply have accompany driver. You do compulsory lessons and learner permit valid 6 months before sitting test. If you pass you might get the n plate for 2 years think its in motion this month.

    Good luck with it!

Unfortunately next week, but I might just get away with a lp for a short while but will need to get a full licence ASAP.
Knew I should have done it years ago but I never had need to drive.

I came to a stage where i had to as i live in rural area. Was a case of now or never!

Ya kind of do it when you dont need to but only do it when you want to do it you more determined and more likely to succeed! Good luck!

Don't think you'll manage to get it by next week. Are you going to be driving as part of the job?

You have to start from scratch so you'll have to sit the theory test before you can get a licence.

Since you had 2 provisional li might be a bit harder to get one too.

Makes no difference how many provisionals you've had before. The fact that it is more than 5 years since you had one last means it's as if they never existed. You just start from scratch, driver theory test, get the permit, start Essential Driver Training (12 lessons) then apply for your test.

+1 You'll have to wait 6 months from issue date of licence before sitting test
