Looking at replacing the front brake discs with Mtec ones.

Is there much difference or preference for any one of these replacement options?

    Grooved Only
    Drilled Only
    Grooved & Drilled

Is the grooved & drilled the best ones to go for?

The idea of the grooves is to keep the pads "scraped" clear of used friction material as the brakes are applied. The drill-holes are supposed to save weight at the expense of friction surface, and personally I don't think it makes a jot of difference unless you're Lewis Hamilton, and he uses carbon-fibre rotors anyway. Oi loikes grooves-only.

Pads make a much bigger difference. Ebc do rotors with grooves for handy money.

If you find your brakes are fading some good pads (not ebc) and race fluid will make a huge difference.

My car had APEC pads in it and standard fluid, I replaced the pads with updated ones and ate race fluid and the brakes are excellent now with zero fade.
