Lookin for help with Plex - Plex Server not found

    Posted this in the bargain alert section for the NowTV box but it is probably better here:

    Hi Guys,

    I recently received my NowTV box. I installed the plex app on the NowTV box and installed the Media Server on my Windows PC.

    When I go to the Plex app -> Discover Servers -> Nothing shows up.

    When I add server manually (found IP address via cmd -> ipconfig) I get a timeout error.

    Using UPC (older CISCO Modem). PC connected via network cable.

    Things I already tried.

    1. Re-installed the media server (on PC)
    2. Re-installed the Plex app on the NowTV box
    3. Disabled Firewall

    Seems an unusual issue not many ppl seem to encounter this. Just my luck.

    Additional info. Running Windows 7 (32 bit). When I run the Plex Media Center on my computer (where the media server is installed) it does recognize the server.
    Also installed Plex app on my Android phone. Also can't find the media server.

    Hope someone has an idea.

    Solution found:

    Zonealarm despite being shut down to test it (no process running in taskmanager) was the cause. Uninstalled it and now Plex works perfectly.
