So could anyone tell me if it's anyway awkward to change courses? The course I've got from the CAO was my second choice and I really want my first.

I think this is the form FIRST YEAR APPLICANTS (Internal Transfers to Year 1).

By the looks of it you need to have the required CAO points to do it.

Find out who the year-head of the programme you want to transfer into is and talk to them about it. Nothing's written in stone, in the end it just comes down to someone in admin clicking a button. That's assuming that there are free spaces in the programme, if it's already full that's probably the end of it.
