I've just completed my L.C and was offered into Waterford to study Architecture yet my parents argued and argued for me not going , and forced me to decline the offer , much to my displeasure as i am left doing nothing all year ......

This left me to have a grudge towards them and i've literally just been kicked out of home with no-where to stay as a 17 year old , so i need a job to settle down somewhere .....

I live in the east meath region and im in desperate need of advice or oppurtunities , PLEASE i am living off nothing !!!

The Real world truly is tough and im starting to feel severely depressed ....

Where are you staying now? Did you apply to SUSI? Get on to Waterford and see if they could still offer you the place. Also check out the vacant places on the CAO website. See http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/education/ details of what you are entitled to. If you got a college place again, then you could get student accomodation . Don't give up . You are 17 so there should be supports available to you.

Have you aunt's, uncle's, grandparents or even friends to stay with until u get sorted. Why did your parents not want you to go to college and then turn around and kick you out?

I'm pretty sure your parents are legally obliged to house you until you're 18. Call the police and ask for advice, or pop into Citizen's Information tomorrow morning.

I suspect there's a lot more to this story.

My advice to you is to go to a family member or friend and ask for their assistance.

Your goal needs to be to get your life back on track. That means get shelter, food and an education before joining the working world. The world is very unfair to the uneducated.

OP, reapply next year for architecture too, if it's what you really want to do. :) It's your choice, not theirs.

Thanks everyone yous have been very supportive , living with my uncle and grandad atm ......

Applied for Colaiste Ide , I do not want to be sitting around doing nothing as im not that sort of person ....

I think my parents just were acting as a barrier , I'll apply again next year but to DIT (Closer) , It is tough but i've just started back at the gaelic to keep my head off things ....

But whenever theres an oppurtunity theres something that turns around and stops you , its very frustrating but i guess i have to keep looking ....

I'm not the only young person in Ireland with this problem unfortunately , but theres help everywhere , even here on boards.ie ! Thanks lads/lasses :P

I really feel for you. Architecture is difficult to get into so fair play for getting an offer.
There are a few things you may not fully know about doing the course and I have friends who did it while I was in DIT. Firstly it takes a long time very few people get through in anything less than 6 years. Pretty common to fail an exam and have to repeat a year or take a year out.
The hours are long with a lot of project work. So you won't be able to work part time.
DIT is harder to get into than Waterford so you might want to improve your portfolio.
Maybe try to talk to some students doing the course to get a real view of what it is like.

I don't say this to discourage you but you are better off knowing what you would be heading into as I know I was never told about the reality of my course. I wish you all the best

Glad to hear you have somewhere to stay royaler95 and even more delighted to hear you are doing a course for the year to keep yourself busy. Best of luck with your upcoming studies :)
