DIY repair of 3GS

I've been happy with my 3GS since 2009 and see no reason to invest in a new phone. It's fast enough for my purposes.

However, the first 2 things that seemed to go on it were wifi reception and the microphone. I was contactable via text only for a while :D until I googled and read that I should test for software fault before hardware by opening up voice memo. DOH! Sure enough mic is actually working fine so I just need to reset probably. Wifi reception is still muck though.

Anyway, I dropped it the other day and shattered the screen. Touch seems to be working fine in all areas of the screen though. I've a crack on the back casing to.

I've seen the link to the .ie site for parts and they seem incredibly reasonable.

So what parts do you reckon I need to change given the above and what parts should I change for convenience sake while I have the thing opened up. A new battery is a given.

    Thanks in advance.

Have gotten a few bits and pieces of these guys. Think they have a shop in Rathmines, Dublin. I changed the screen, which was surprisingly easy enough. Couldn't comment on wifi though. I bought the complete front assembly

€35 and good as new. Hopefully it'll last me another 4 years. Can't afford €600 phones any more. Jaysus, when I think about it...€600......on a phone.... :D
