    Hi
B&Q do an 18v hitachi li-ion drill for between €110-€125 depending on the day. It comes with a second battery too which is handy. Some of the stanley stuff can be rubbish but hitachi stuff would be well respected. Got one myself a few years ago and still working fine.

    Or B&Q Dewalt :

I think it's only €110-115 here in Ireland. I know its not the Lithium battery but .....

i have this stanley drill for a year now and it is great, fairly light comparing to nicd, recharges very fast, massive torque

two things that they could improve - i really would prefer light staying for a bit so it could be turned on when you need to position drilling bit, and second thing is rpm could be a bit (20-30%) higher on 2nd gear (not that you get any of those with other drills)

perfect for general diy, battery won't self discharge even when left for a month or so

Not sure where the bargain alert is here but to issue a word of warning, branded tools for the DIY market are not the same as professional grade tools, so the reputations of certain brands over others are not deserved.
For instance, I used Bosch tools all my life and would have sworn by them but I was disappointed by the quality of the DIY range. Check on the quality of the component parts of the tools, metal interiors such as gearboxes are going to take more abuse and last longer than plastic.

+1 for that Dewalt drill, got it a few years ago in B&Q, comes with 2 batteries and hasn't skipped a beat ever, brilliant drill for the money.
