Me, well I'm moving into accommodation in a week or so since college starts soon. Looking forward to it, but right now it just feels like I'm wasting time until it starts. I've spent most of the summer in front of the computer, not the greatest of ideas. I had a list of things I wanted to do, but of course I procrastinated and it didn't all work out. Regardless, I still have time to carry them out in the future so...

I hope I do, but you never know.... Hell, I could be hit by a car tomorrow and end up a paraplegic. All my plans would go to waste, and my life as I once knew it would fall to pieces. Time wouldn't hold the same meaning anymore.

What was once was something to fear, would become something to look forward to.
    Joking of course

Okay so drop one little one to neighbours to be brought to school. (only started yesterday). Drop other little one to friends to mind. Make sure other one is up for secondary school.

Go to Blanchardstown hosp for scope down throat. ( Don't stop heaving!!... Hold on to that feeling ....) Come out 10 mins late to find car clamped cost 80 quid.

Come home, sort out kids with food etc. Wait for hubby to come home and bring me to Sil's for dinner, cost 30 quid home in taxi.

Come home and decide to drink one more and come on here. My life at the min. BLOODY EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!! Ah well.

above my average i have to say. started working out, new gf, going on holidays on monday and i earned decent money over the summer...so yeah above average, but not awesome...missing few days of college and organising new accommodation (throws things into chaos). the gf will be going home soon turning things into a ldr and my money is disappearing fast...also abit behind on college work that built up last year
but that all said, overall its better than anything before it, i have no major issues and my mental and physical health is fairly stable (never been like that before) so great stuff, up from here i guess

dont worry op, we all piss our summers away, thats why we have gloomy winter XD

Im in pretty much the same situation as four years ago but with a more positive outlook which makes all the difference. If I could grow a moustache my life would be truly complete.

Not too powerful, going to england in a couple of years for my final year of college, there is little hope of getting a job after if so it sometimes feels like a waste of time if you're not a top-grade student.

Don't say that, you never know what'll happen. What do you want to work in?

Cannot give a definitive answer. My mind is up and down constantly. Right now I feel like life is not all that great, tomorrow I'll think it's brilliant and the next day I'll think it's miserable!

Television production, hopefully a Camera Operator, my plan b would be save up and go to the USA or Australia after as job opportunities seem better over there.

I don't know about the USA... I guess it depends on the state but a lot of the country is in dire straits. Canada seems like the go to place in my opinion.

Returning to work on Monday after a month's vacation.

Starting a part-time distance degree in economics next month, too.

Will also be an IELTS examiner for the British Council part-time.

    Expecting a baby in October.

Cultivating a 3-year plan to return to Ireland in 2016.

Can't pause for breath at times, but life's okay.

    Pretty good at the moment,

Been with the most amazing woman for 2 years, living together for just over a year.

Doing well in my job, good security, great money and all the benefits that come with it.

And I have been given permission from my job to take a 1 year absence to go and work in America and keep my same position and wage when I come back. Have the interview for America in October so if I got it, it would be the icing on the cake. :)

It's going well. I've just finished an intensive but well-regarded certificate course. Now I have a 50/50 chance of landing a well-paid job by Christmas.

On the bad side, last night I spent 2 hours talking to a girl before she announced she had a boyfriend. I miss sex.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,284 ✭✭✭Chattastrophe!

Well, a year ago I was in a horrible stressy badly-paid job that I despised. But, it was with one of the top firms in the country, so everyone told me I'd be crazy to quit and would find it impossible to get another job, etc. But I did it - I handed in my notice, got offered a great new job just a couple of weeks later - I love my work, and just got made permanent along with a pay rise.

So my career is finally totally on track. I'm living with my lovely ride of a boyfriend, with a baby on the way soon. Family and friends are all relatively happy and healthy.

Have to admit, life is pretty awesome these days! :)

It's going a little 'too' good...

Punching way above my weight with a stunning girlfriend, 7 years my junior. Am fitter at 35 than most of the 20 year olds I train with. Own house, last of the tracker mortgages. And have a job that I'm very good at and pays quite well. And as I'm 5 mins from work, I get to go home and feed the dog and myself on my lunch hour. The dog, as it happens, couldn't have worked out better. Best behaved and gorgeous Siberian Husky.

Sitting drinking a coffee in my own place with him at my side and herself keeping the bed warm, I'd like to thank the OP for making me realise just how lucky I am.

    For now!

Cause I've been at the other end of the spectrum - and it's DAMN tough!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,255 ✭✭✭✭Esoteric_

Really bad, but sure that can be fixed

Medical problems, so I'm gonna sort those out with the help of some doctors.

Starting college next month, studying criminal psychology.

May be getting a much desired transfer in work. :)

So despite things being rubbish now, they'll get better soon :)

Sitting in a small bedroom on the west side of Central Park in Manhattan. No one in Ireland is awake on Facebook and none of my friends are going out tonight.

The restaurant I work in closed down 10 days ago so I've been ****ed for cash. I'm living off a wad of $20 bills I saved up but I'm heading back to Dublin in 8 days so it's not so bad. I have a real job there so I'm not too worried. Software.

I spend my newly-unemployed days waking up at 2 pm, hopping on the subway to a random part of New York and going for a walk, usually finishing with my falling asleep in the oppressive heat. Often I wake up to Adrien Kennedy or George Hook blabbering away into my ear. That's actually quite a strange feeling - surreal, looking around at skyscrapers and yellow cabs while hearing Dublin accents and wit. I sometimes listen to their podcasts on quiet subway trains and spend the whole journey laughing out loud to myself. I get strange stares.

I normally finish my day with beers/dinner in Brooklyn with friends or by myself. Tonight I decided to drop over to the 24 hour deli and pick up some Four Loco - a 12% alcoholic energy drink. I got so mad and rowdy that I even decided to download The Great Gatsby film even though I still have 10 pages of the book left to read.

In one way I am at the top of the world - finished a degree (finally), healthy, healthy friends and family, I have a few options regarding work in the near future.

In another way I am completely lost! I am mid-20's, probably have to move out soon, I do not know what I want to do (their are jobs available in my career choice), and the freedom is paralyzing! I have TOO many options and I don't want to choose the wrong one.

And I have to choose soon as money is extremely tight! It will be an interesting year for the average hero.

New York is a great place. I remember the first time I visited there, the day after 9/11... traveled by train from Chicago.

It is, I guess, a little lonely, a little cold. New Yorkers are a bit too cool for school sometimes. Tried a little of the gaelic charm?

    Kind of complicated.
I'm in college but I know I failed one of my repeats so I don't know if I'll be going back in September or next year yet .
Also I'm still unsure what I want to do after college ends have 3 years left so I'm thinking it may not be such a bad idea if I need to.
Ex broke up with me about a week ago miss him badly and want him back gonna try. All of these things happened in the one week.
The only good thing at the moment is I'm learning to drive and the lessons are going better nearly getting the hang of steering.

Life is going well I have to admit.

I have a secure job doing something that I don't hate, with regular hours (after 3 years of shift work, it's a godsend). I'm back in the gym 3x a week which is having terrific effects on my mood, and my general fitness. I'm seeing TWO ladies I met on POF (I can't decide which one to stay with. I might even end both and go back to POF!) and I just accepted an offer on a part-time degree course in IT (I've always wanted to get a degree and I'd love to move into IT!).

I have terrific friends that I enjoy meeting each week for beers and laughs and movies. I bought a BMW 3 series M-sport this summer that I love and I also have good health, which is not appreciated enough!

I mean, life is not perfect, but all things considered I'm doing pretty well :)

Things are ok at the minute, my OH and I have both been let go recently, we don't get rent allowance and we're getting married next year so money is really tight right now but I'm still happy, I'm confident that we'll both get some work soon and until then we're enjoying our free time together a lot....sexually :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 311 ✭✭keithb93

I'm waiting for the results of my repeats to see if I get into fourth year or not. If I fail I'm a grand in debt with a rented apartment in the city with no means to pay for it but if I pass then I get the grant and get to finish my degree. But until then life is pretty tense.

Hopefully going to emigrate for a year before next summer.
