I watched it late last night (with a few drinks onboard), so it's a bit fuzzy. But I thought it was only 'meh' - and that's harsh coming from someone who truly loves this show.

It was grand but I'm not enthused by the new dynamic. The Washington set up is far too slick with flashing computer tracking - the sort of boring IT crap that 'Castle' always avoided in favour of people actually tacking. It'd be a shame for it to go down the hollow CSI computer track but I'm reasonably confident it won't and that Beckett will end up back in NYC.

Same here, i was wondering on how her new job would affect Castle, It didnt take long for him to find out how she's getting on & in the way, although it was ok, a long way to go.

I'm light of this week's episode it's almost as if the writers wanted to push you in that direction in order to make the guys finding the warehouse using detective skills much more satisfying.

While its exciting for Beckett, its rules are getting tedious to bear with, it didnt take her long to come back to NYC albeit a case her dept took over, which ruffled a few feathers, time will tell which side she'll take.

I suppose all change for next week, as i was thinking her replacement stood out like a sore thumb this week.

Them last few ep were funny inc the last one with Castle & Alexis as she doesnt get enough airtime on the show & good to have Beckett back, although she'll have to watch out for Alexis as she's good at the detective work!

It may look like 3XK could be back, so it may turn in to an arc?

Ive only seen the first few minutes of this weeks ep but it doesnt look like a two parter. Just as a FYI in case anyone didnt know but Castle airs on Sunday nights in Canada so available on Mondays.

Yeah i thought it would continue, but i'd say they'll probably have it spread out over the season, as this ep was at a different speed & if u have the right no. that is ;)

& i thought it was fake episodes i saw on Mon, til i checked them out, handy to have them a day early.

I was very disappointed with this season until the 3XK episode.

But I always liked the 3XK episodes, it's the closest we have to a story arc we have left in Castle (the Beckett's mum one seems to have played itself out pretty much)

Aside from that, this season seems to have jumped the shark shaped line that last season danced around a bit with how some of the cases have gone specifically the time travel one and the freemasons one, I guess it's because they've played the it looks like one thing but its actually something innocent switchero already far too many times (zombie walk, pretend to be a spy holiday, steampunk and vampire cliques etc) so now they are being forced to bop these scenarios directly which makes them a lot less interesting.

Another great episode this week, good to see
    Castle's dad
    back!

brilliant episode this week, nice to see bracken back on the board, being honest the show getting kind of stale with all the happiness and wedding stuff this season, theyve been wondering aimlessly for a bit to long really,

i really wanted kate to keep that job in DC and switch up the focus of the show, and have her hunt down bracken with the attorney generals division, but if shes gonna go after him still fair enough i suppose,

Thought this week put a bit or drama back into it. Like for a second I actually thought they could kill off a main character. The show is solid still and I have enjoyed this season, but I can't fully disagree.

Better ep this week & more entertaining than other weeks that didnt contain the upcoming wedding.
As you fear when the two stars get together, i just hope there are more episodes like this week coming up or it will end up like Moonlighting or Frasier etc

Wow the moment we have been waiting for though 6 seasons (and I don't mean the wedding!) - thought it was a good episode but wondering where they go from here. I could see the show getting a bit stale without that huge overarching story

as stated above (many weeks and months ago) I found the whole beckett mom arc had played itself out so despite the earlier bid for president reveal there didnt seem to be much left in the pot for the story so I'm fine with the wrap up, there might be an echo story later down the line when brackett's on trial or something, but there is not much left in it. Besides I'll be honest I'd rather 3XK takes over as the backarc cause at least that involves both castle and beckett and has an actual character at its core. honestly after the reveal of the why and who brackett is just not very interesting character wise.

I wonder now will this go the same way as The Mentalist now that the series arc is over.

I wonder is this is the begining of the end of Castle.

I really enjoyed the whole episdoe.

so which one do you think it is?
Castle's dad has faked castle's death for some spy related season 7

    or
We get a big 2-3 part 3XK related opening involving the psychological torture of beckett and the physical torture of castle

or will we bet on the dark horse:
    something new

While I'd like door number 2. I'd betting its more likely door number 1 judging both from the
the black suv spy trope and the sense that the writers seem to think they can get more mileage out of castles dad then a serial killer, which I disagree with

The castle's dad is spy plotline while initially a surprising twist has not had a lot of solid episodes under its belt. A poor man's taken introduced us to it and the single episode this season was ok I guess. Personnally of the three Castle arcs (His Dad, Becketts mum and 3Xk) I'd say 3XK has been the only one that has been consistently strong and perhaps that has been because they have been so careful with the limited use of it, the becketts mum one is finished and his dad has all the same problems as the whole *went nowhere* beckett in DC plotline, it requires too much new elements to work, either making forced excuses to keep the NYPD involved or whole new supporting cast, which most probably wouldnt be in favour of after six seasons with this cast.

regardless I look forward to season 7.

I think it is number two, but number one will assist in helping solve number two, if that makes sense ;)
