It looks a disappointing Saturday for racing. Think the second race at Beverley looks an absolute cracker that sprint. Think I might give Bailey's Jubilee a chance at 12s, she was a really nice and tough two year old, has had just the one run this year in the Nell Gwyn but don't think she stayed.

    Edit: drawn 14, will avoid

I'm pulling that race apart now. Getting nowhere fast. Slightly dizzy actually.

I'm seriously hungover. My head is busted.

Was hoping Aidan or Rossom would make it easy for me today as I want to have a decent bet.

I've gone for DOC HAY @ 16/1 in that race.

One that could go close is INXILE the nice draw and the better ground could be the ticket for this horse to show some class, another one that might be worth a bet at a very nice price (I think it is well over priced) is STONEFIELD FLYER this horse is a lot better than its last few results would say, twill be interesting to see who gets the head over the line 1st.

The Brian Smart pair Excellette and Tangerine Trees are the ones i'd be concentrating on, Tangerine Trees has probably over achieved in his career by winning the L'Abbaye and has also won this race once before in 2011 and has a course record of 3,1,1. Has an uncomplicated style of running and could well burn them off out from the front with a nice low draw.

Excellette is a fairly consistent filly who wasn't beaten far when just behind consequent Group 1 winner Jwala LTO, has won at listed level and could still be improving and Smart is very underrated although her draw in 12 does look hard to overcome with the recent record of winners coming from the low stalls.

I'd be inclined to go 2pt win on TT @ 10/1, 1pt e/w Excellette @10/1(Due to her draw) and a little reverse forecast

York Glory looks the danger as the pace up front will suit him but over 5f i'd never expect him to get up to the leaders but could run into the placings

No horse has won from a double figure stall in 10yrs i think

Surely one of us will back the winner.

The fact that so many are going for different horses will tell you how hard a race it is to pick the winner!

If I was forced to do a bet in that race I would go with Doc Hay.

bulling on a horse how does that work.

Could not never see York Glory getting there over 5f, can't believe he was backed at 1/6 in running! Anyone that backed that deserved to lose

    Bulling ;
    Adjective
    • Having a strong feeling of or showing annoyance, displeasure, or hostility; full of anger.

Strange kind of performance, very immature looking in his action, but he should make up into a nice 3yo. Wouldn't be overexcited about his guineas chances at this stage, would you?

He looks nice but don't think he beat much there. Could be a few nice horses we haven't seen yet this year. Wouldn't be plunging on Kingman for 2,000 guineas.

Regarding the Guineas, call me unoriginal but thought Great White Eagle looked a proper horse on his debut. Looking forward to seeing him tomorrow

I really like the other Eagle for the Guineas, Dermot Weld's Free Eagle. Reminds me of Refuse To Bend.

kiyoshi is 9/4 tomorrow which is really tempting me
thats too big surely but its hard to gauge how good
    the obrien horse is
the fact that lads are longest on kiyoshi and shortest on
    tapestry has me worried though
It unusual to see most going 7/4 on the fav with lads only 5/4

might wait for the opening show

Agreed. Kiyoshi has the form there for all to see and her last run really has worked out well. If your are backing O'Briens you are basing it on potential and market confidence(of which there has been plenty about in the last few days.) I thought Kiyoshi looked a bit special though despite hanging badly and looks a fair price to me at the moment.

Was looking through today's results and came across a Fastnet mare called Atlantic Jewel winning a 7f GP 1 in Australia, she's the new darling of the turf there. Although what beating 2m Melbourne Cup horses in a 7f race amounts to is another story. She's now heading for the Cox Plate over 10f, a trial race for the Melbourne Cup.

They certainly do things differently in Australia.

I just couldn't get my head around the trials for the Melbourne cup being so close to the cup itself when I was over there.
