Ok, so basically I have written a bunch of songs for my band.
But no I need to know what key we are in for harmony/synth purposes.
How would I go about finding out what key I'm playing in as some of the riffs on guitar (verse, chorus etc) do not all start on the same riff

    For example:
    Verse: C# - B - A
    Bridge: C# - D# - E
    Chorus: E - F# - C# - B - A

    Are these all major chords?

    ---
EDIT: Assuming they are. I may be talking out of my backside here, but If anyone has better info, feel free to jump in.

It seems to me that maybe you don't have too much experience yet on the guitar and reading music, is that correct? I'm not taking the piss, it's just that the chord progression seems a bit unusual to me, and might make it a little harder for your mates to work with than with other songs.

Any chance we could listen to it? The melody might help.

EDIT2: I can't give you a more direct answer as I can't think of any single key that would normally include C#, B, AND A, or C#, D# and E etc. (again, assuming they are all major chords).
If the verse was in the key of A for example, you would generally expect C#min, Bmin, Amaj.

Ok I had a quick listen there. I don't have a guitar with me and I don't have perfect pitch, but it sounds that you start the song like this:
    C#min C#min(ish) A F#min x 4
    then from 0'29 it goes C#min C#min/F# F# etc...

If so, that part is in C#min.

From 1'37 it sounds like you're in E and then later reverts back to C#min.

The structure makes more sense now that I know there are minor chords in there :).
