I'm new to stock trading, but I did some research, it seems the online trading companies from US, UK and Europe are all cheaper than the Irish based companies.

Which company is the best and cheapest to use when you want trade small amounts of Irish and US shares and not deal often?

    I really appreciate your help.

    I asked the same recently:

The general opinion was take a risk off terrible service and occasional IT errors from TD Waterhouse for their low prices or go with the slightly more pricey Saxo who seem to offer a very slick service at decent rates, Im in the middle of signing up with Saxo and they're very impressive so far, instant answers to emails etc, you get given your own account manager and he replies instantly to any questions, also their software and web interface is really professional, love the way you can customise it and watch the orders going through, edit/cancel/set limits/trailing stops etc on the fly, very professional and they're less than half what I was paying Danske Bank for their useless half-broken service.

Havent actually tried a real life trade with Saxo yet though just their demo trading with monopoly money but they seem to be well regarded.
