Less and less people are going abroad for this kind of treatment. I think the penny has dropped and people are starting to realise the can of worms that they are left with when "the cheapness" has worn off.

I see loads of these patients, look terrible, fits terrible, unhealthy rubbish and ultimately leads to the unnecessary failure of the supporting teeth.

Sorry I must not have been clear - the dentist I am referring to is based in Bishopstown, Cork and is run by Hungarian dentists/dental professionals

Please dont mention the name again.
You have 4 posts in the last couple of weeks referencing their name very clearly.

Once more and you'll receive a ban

My experiance and the experiance of a lot of dentists is that the hungarian/ eastern europian style of treatment planning and the executation of this is not what we would wish for our firends or family. Maybe its different when they are based in the country the patients are from as there is some sort of comeback and they are not tied by ludricious holiday timeframes, however with prices of their magnitude they have to be using the cheapest of laboratory work, materials and the cheapest dentists they can find.

Cosmetic dentistry is very senstive to quality. Definatly ask to see pictures of work they have done, in focus pictures showing the gums.

The bitter taste of low quality lingers long after the sweetness of low cost is gone. However if your looking for some sort of validation of a decision you have already made then thats up to you. At the end of the day its your mouth and your budget.

Thanks for that - I am only weighing my options at the moment, but price-wise it seems to be good, for 4-6 e.max veneers specifically.

They have a patient book, but I would love some recent feedback from patients if possible

Testamonials are unverifiable and give no indication of quality. You have to see photos of the work, there are a lot of good prosthodontic dentist in cork that dont charge all that much more, are specialists and you are guaranteed a good job, having somebody who know nothing about denitstry gush about how nice they are means exactly nothing.

Thanks for the heads up - however, I have to take into account the competitive price when making my decision. I have had other quotes given to me that are 50%+ more expensive in the Cork area

Can I volunteer as a cautionary tale for cheap dentistry?

7 years ago had a crown and bridge done quite cheaply (1k bridge, 500 crown)

4 years later crown falls off, same dentist re-applies, then 2 years later, massive absess, immediate removal of tooth. Had to get an implant (this time from superb dentist with excellent specialist training that used really good materials)

Then 1 year later, absess in tooth bridge, had to replace bridge and get implant.

Total cost: 6000 euro. At least I know I'll never have to replace the implant but it was such an expensive lesson to learn.

    Buy cheap, buy twice.
