They were accused of videotaping themselves having sex and selling the videos.

You needs courts or a trial... we should have got Kim Jong-un in here to sort out the banks years ago!!

The joy of having a loon for a dictator.

Its a pity america has no real interest in the country or they could invade and get him out, If only they find oil or "WMD" there.

There's not enough small villages with less than adequate weaponry for America to invade.

The U.N should respond by funding Team America 2.

I think calling it a country is spoiling it a bit.

Absolutely crackpot nation, and I feel so sorry for the people living there. I wouldn't be against the USA sending a stealth bomber there and dropped a 'big boy' on Kim Il Fat's head

I'd say a lot of innocent people that would stand to lose their lives would be against it though.

I vote they send in The Expendables. Job done.

It was a joke!!! I am well aware of the North Korean arms race and the supply of Nuclear weaponry they are/ have in stock.

Did you miss out on the american invasion of Iraq where WMD were never found, it was a play on how they can invade and make a reason for it if they wish.

I always think of Israel when I her people talking about North Korea. The persecution complex they have rightly or wrongly has lead to the situation.

I think the big difference is Israel has friends in the west that allow them carry on they way they do while NK is much more extreme it has no friends in the west

Agreed, especially as that country has a disproportionately high percentage of people in the military. What else would they be doing, though, I wonder? Shag all.

The majority of the nation in NK are brainwashed. Those that aren't are in prisons or executed.

Doesn't take much brainwashing when you have little or no concept of the outside world. Still, I'd sooner remove that fat loon from the helm than leave him there.

The reason North Korea is a military dictatorship, in case this small point has escaped you, is BECAUSE the US invaded and slaughtered over 3 million Korean citizens. It was only with the help of the Chinese that the American occupiers were beaten back down South, a ceasefire declared and the people of the North armed themselves to the teeth to protect from further invasions. Rather than man up and admit defeat and leave them be, the US pressured the rest of the world not to do any trade with North Korea, effectively wrecking their economy. So they are holed up in a country that struggles to feed itself thanks to the chicken-sh1t sore-losers in Washington who can't admit when they're wrong and get a hard-on from simply ****ing with people.

I don't think they're as brainwashed as we're lead to believe though. Lots of them probably are, but I'd say there's also a huge percentage who aren't, they just put on faux 'leader love' because they're afraid that if they don't, it's off to the concentration camps for them and their family - if anything, it's extreme (and justified) paranoia.

Funny this should come up, there is a full hour long independent documentary some guy made on Youtube that I stumbled on a few weeks back done - with nearly all the footage take from INSIDE North Korea! Some parts are incredible, really makes you feel for the people as well, who don't come over as brainwashed, and are more just terrified on a 24/7 basis - most of them actually seem very friendly towards him, but are petrified of being caught doing anything on camera.

The crossing over the Dandong river from China to North Korea is crazy looking in terms of the stark difference between the two, it's at 6:45.

Did it ever occur to you why the country is the way it is? Do you know anything about history or do you think everything is solved with nuking the place and then setting up McDonalds?

Erm, yes, and I didn't need your little diatribe to another poster earlier to realise it. I lived in South Korea for half a year before - I'm well, well aware of the history.

have you ever heard of Jucheism?

they screwed up their own economy by thinking they were self sufficient. millions starved in the famine in the 90s because they wouldn't ask for help, or even let on that anything was wrong. maybe if you visit the place and get a feel for how they think, or how they're told to think, you'll change your mind on who is wrong.

The Korean war was a hangover of world war 2 and an opening salvo of the cold war. After the war Korea was divided then the western allies left leaving north communist and south a dictatorship (i think). Then the north built up a massive army and invaded the south, then the UN security council approved a Us military invention.

Does anyone have a link to her hit "Excellent Horse-Like Lady"?
Hyon Song-wol, a singer, rumoured to be a former lover of the North Korean leader, is said to have been arrested on Aug 17 with 11 others for violating laws against pornography.

Hyon Song-wol starred in the video for her 2005 hit 'A Girl In The Saddle Of A Steed'

The reports in South Korea's Chosun Ilbo newspaper indicate that Hyon, a singer with the Unhasu Orchestra, was among those arrested on August 17 for violating domestic laws on pornography.

All 12 were machine-gunned three days later, with other members of North Korea's most famous pop groups and their immediate families forced to watch. The onlookers were then sent to prison camps, victims of the regime's assumption of guilt by association, the reports stated.

“They were executed with machine guns while the key members of the Unhasu Orchestra, Wangjaesan Light Band and Moranbong Band as well as the families of the victims looked on,” said a Chinese source reported in the newspaper.

Hyon's band was responsible for a string of patriotic hits in North Korea, including "Footsteps of Soldiers," "I Love Pyongyang," "She is a Discharged Soldier" and "We are Troops of the Party." Her popularity reportedly peaked in 2005 with the song "Excellent Horse-Like Lady.
