The Tosh is the only laptop with an Ivy Bridge processor, the others are old Sandy Bridge models.

The acer's 6GB ram is no use?

    How's toshiba as a brand?

Can you please suggest me a decent laptop in range of 350-450 euros?

Of course it useful but system memory is easy to upgrade. Not so the CPU is not.

You're looking for a budget laptop. Don't expect to find supreme build quality and carbon fibre or aluminum body. They're pretty much all the same, the one brand I would not recommend is Advent.

With €450 I'd buy some Ivy Bridge Core i3 for 370-380 euro and invest the rest in a solid state drive.

Mind you,the price is ex VAT. 570 Euro is quite expensive. This one costs €430, delivered. Ofc, it's Windows 8.

Hi guys. Looking for some help. I need a new laptop with a budget of max 600. I don't play games but need it to be portable with a long battery life and quick start up. Will be used for excel and accounting packages as well as for loads of files and notes. Will also have to use Microsoft silverlight. What about Asus Zenbook UX32A 13.3 inch Windows 8 Ultrabook in Silver - UX32A-R3007H. Can get it delivered from laptopsdirect.ie for just under 700.

While the UX32A boasts 9 hrs battery life, the "real world" results are somewhat different. 9 hrs are indeed possible but only with WLAN off, display dimmed to the max, etc (where's the fun in that?). With normal web surfing via a WLAN connection, it goes down after four hours, which isn't so exceptional anymore.

But 670 yoyos (@ LD) is an attractive deal and with a proper SSD (Samsung 840 Evo 120 GB, €85) and a memory upgrade it certainly is a nice machine.

How can we downgrade windows 8 to windows 7 pro?

Windows 8 is Windows 7 underneath, just use something like Classic Shell to hide the metro skin and its 90% the same as Windows 7.
