I am seeking help as i have to wear a bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding and have to put on a 3/4 length sleeve with it (scars) would a green lace same as dress look better or the same material as dress look better? PS its the one on the left hand side with straps and we got it in dark green.

Help!!! I have attached pic :) X thanks

I think lace or a lace bolero over would be perfect.

Personally I think having a shrug made of same material and colour would look best. What does your sister think?

There will defo be sleeves put on it, no shrug or bolero as my scars are very obvious and want to feel confident on the day. Am unsure of what to do. We ordered extra material the same as the dress for sleeves but am fearful it might look 80's :(

I think lace would be gorgeous - the colour sounds fab!

There is a chiffon sleeve that attaches to bra available in Irish boutiques similar to those in attached article.
If I find details I'll post it later

Edit this is it canopi arms my friend swears by them

I think the same material would possibly make you look older (assume you were born in 83?)
Could you bring it to a dressmaker and get them to figure out the solution, save you googling your life away?

What about buying some white lace and using a dylon dye to match it to the same shade as the dress? You could even just buy a few shades of dye and try it on a small piece of lace to be sure you get something as close as possible

I think the lace would look lighter, whereas the satin could look heavy and in photos if the light is not being your friend your arms and shoulders could look chunky in satin

What I would say though is to buy a decent quality lace to avoid cheapening the dress.

Unfortunately I'm pretty useless for advice but I would recommend asking on the Fashion board (its in the Rec section).

I asked a question there before and got some brilliant answers!
