opening a student account

My son has registered for a plc course and wanted to open a student account but the banks have said he can't without a cao student number :confused: There is no student number on his paperwork and the college just use his pps number. Any idea of a way around this?

PLC Courses are Level 5 which is the same level as the Leaving Certificate so I don't think your son will be able to open a third level student account.

There are student accounts for students in second level though
