What's the best way to try a lot of different whiskeys, to find out what tickles your fancy to buy a whole bottle. I'm not paying stupid prices in a pub for a shot.
There must be sample size collections or something.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Some pubs do half shots...The miniature collections of cooley whiskeys were more expensive than pub prices. Celtic whiskey do tasting every now and again, posted on Facebook and sell miniatures Depends what part of the country you're in.
Any pub will let you smell a few bottles if its quiet which will give you a good idea of what it's like

I would reccommend that you do buy a 35.5ml measure, and try one or two different whiskies that you may be curious about,it won't cost the world, and it will give you a decent sized sample in which you can make your decision to purchase a whole bottle sometime.

Probably totally wrong, but, drinking many different whiskies in minature measures may not be an altogether accurate discription of the spirits.

The whiskey museum in Edinburgh is the one, failing that take my advise and buy a bottle of Oban.

Not really helpful but when I was in Frankfurt Airport, the lady in Duty free offered me free samples. I tried like 10 different samples spooked the poor lady out bet she wished never asked. It was 7am so I couldn't tell what was best but they were all nice. Jameson is my favourite

    Few good ideas there.
Don't get me wrong, I've had normal Jameson, Redbreast and Middleton.
    But that's it.
Just looking to broaden my horizons
