Hey just wondering if anyone knows a few good places to go start of hiking. I live in Dublin northside close to M1. I have went to Djouce once and hiked up there to the top. Just not sure of any places to start of hiking and tackle the bigger places later.

Try get used to the well worn trails first the get yourself a map and compass and learn how to use them.

There are plenty of clubs and websites Google is your friend.

One thing I'll mention is that the weather can turn quickly over here and particularly around lug which you'll eventually want to climb.

Try not to go beyond your ability and have to call for help.

You'll find a list for a basic pack online.

Plenty of trails etc in wicklow.
