I'm mid 30's now, and for about a year or so I had been using Nivea Pure & Natural anti-wrinkle cream. I changed to L'Oreal a few months ago, and when I finishd it, I went back to Nivea, but this time the Q10 energising anti-wrinkle day cream a couple of weeks ago, but still use the pure & natural night cream. I've been wondering if its suitable for my age group or should I use anything different.
I can't afford to spend much, and Nivea is so affordable and feels good on my skin. I'm lucky not to have very many fine lines/wrinkles and told I look very young for my age, thankfully!
I have normal to combination skin, with break outs on my chin (which is more hormonal I'm told). I can't use anything with strong perfume smell as I can be sensitive. Clinique is a no go, I had a bad reaction to it once!

is Nivea ok, or what to you think I should try?

Well it's up to yourself of course but seeing as you are in your mid-30's I would be more inclined to spend more on skincare, look at it as an investment say.

The most important thing is a good skincare regime-double cleanse, tone, serum, moisturise. Exfoliate, masks, treatments a few times a week. Some brands that aren't too expensive and good are REN, Dr. Nick Lowe, Kiehls, This Works. Estee Lauder's new improved Advanced Night Repair is meant to be amazing and you could pick it up a bit cheaper in the duty free:)

to be honest, I LOVEd REN, but I stopped using as I found it too expensive, and for financial reasons I had to start getting something more affordable. There is only one place in Tralee that sells it, and when I recently priced the moisturiser, it was over €30! Too much for me to spend these days. I will have to stick to the Nivea for now I think. I find these other brands are far to expensive for what they are. I find Nivea lovely on my skin, and always get complimented on my skin and how young I look, so it must be doing something right! lol

I find there is so much choice out there, that its so hard to know what to go for. The less expensive stuff seems to be Nivea, L'Oreal etc, and there is always good promotions on them.

I would like to be able to spend a bit more now that I am in my 30's but for now I'll stick to the Nivea!
    Thanks for the tips!

okay well it seems like you had already made up your mind on the Nivea regardless! I'd buy good skincare over new clothes personally but that's just me.

ok, thanks! I now and again treat myself to clothes, but I don't tend to buy that many clothes anymore, it tends to be Penny's most of the time! (apart from a pair of boots on ASOS recently, biggest purchase I've made this year!).
I don't need to waste money on my hair as my hair is in really good condition, its curly & I don't straighten it, nor have I ever coloured it!

I was just really just checking whether others thought Nivea was good, compared to more expensive brands! I have read that Nivea is just as good as some of these expensive ones. I used to use Clarins, and hate Clinique. I just find that Nivea has done the job compared to these expensive ones. I would love to go back to REN, but as I said its too expensive.

i'v started making my own skin creams using http://www.skinactives.com/ as a cheaper alternative. you can use the same ingredients as the expensive brands without their marketing and packaging costs. I find it interesting as it has made me more aware of what ingredients i should be looking for in my skincare products but i am a scientist so maybe thats just me! :p
