Selling car

I am hoping to sell my Opel Astra OPC 2.0 petrol turbo, I got a job and now need to travel 20,000 miles a year, I have this car 3 years, with 50,000 miles on the clock, recently fully serviced and 4 very good tyres.

I would like to know how to value it, I checked donedeal and carzone but can't find a 08 one, didn't seem to help me really. If it helps I purchased it for €18k in Aug 2010 with 15,000 miles on the clock. not sure if this was a good/bad deal but I heard before a car halves in value every 3 years, so by this reasoning is 9k the value I should ask for now.

    Any advice welcome. Thanks.

How fast do you want to sell the car?
This one here is same year.

While on average cars lose 50% of their value every 3 years.
Did you buy yours from a dealer? If so it'd came with warranty and you've done more than the average milage a year.
I'd stick it up around 8000-8500 and see if I get any biters.
No biters then you know its price is too high.

no it was private sale, no warranty.

I would like to sell it fast (as I need a diesel soon for long commutes to a new job), but don't want to give it away either.

As there's feck all of them out there, it's hard to put a value on them.
I'd put it up at the lowest price I was willing to accept and add 2-300 for haggle room.
If you have no callers after a week or two you then need to reevaluate your selling price.
