    Hi,

I want to get an entry level road bike but do not know what one to buy as Im new and havent a clue about bikes. I will be cycling 20 miles 2 x per week from Tallaght to the North Circular Road and back.
As we know, the roads arent great so Im a bit worried about getting a road bike but I would like one for a chage. I have had a few hybrids recently and Im sick of them.
I have a choice of a second hand Carerra Virtuso for €300 but the bike is practically new, here http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_11101_catalogId_15551_productId_810675_langId_-1_categoryId_212536
Or I can get a Eurotrek TDF road bike which has been reduced 50% to €300 and its new. The only thing though is that I would have to buy it from Eurocycycles. I bought off them before and found their customer service shocking after they sold me the bike. The Eurotrek is here http://eurocycles.com/ie/product/eurotrek/tdf-road-bike

So which one would be the best buy ? Any help is greatly appreciated.

They seem very similar tbh. The TDF has 24 gears vs the Virtuoso's 16, but other than that I can't spot any significant differences.

Talking to a guy in a bike shop and apparently the TDF road bikes are heaps of dirt.

Bought the Virtuoso new in halfords and after 3 months find it grand. When purchasing was contemplating getting TDF but girl in shop said she'd pick Virtuoso over TDF any day.
Just a side note, well documented about crap pedals that come with bike, and I like others will be replacing shortly with SPD's

I got a claude butler levante in Penny Farthings on Camden Street for a little bit extra. The guy Ryan in the shop was very helpful and gave me a good deal. After cycling some of the racers I decided I did not like the riding position.
When I cycled the Claude Butler I loved it straight away.
