Laughing Kookaburra ?

    This guy landed on my balcony a couple days ago, I would just like this confirmed, is this a laughing Kookaburro, I heard his laughing but thought maybe the common Kookaburro has a similar call. Thanks

    It is a Laughing Kookaburra all right. There is another species of Kookaburra native to Australia (Blue-winged), which occurs from Brisbane north into QLD. However that species has much more blue on the wing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue-winged_Kookaburra).
